If Life Were a Musical

I would like to think mine resembeled an eclectic mixture. Yes, here is where I show how much of a geek I am… or as I like to think… how much of my paternal grandmothers blood runs through my veins for she too had a deep love of both musicals an theater. This is a love that is actually shared by many of the women in my family.

Disney may have started it, but Grease pretty much sealed the deal when I was around ten. Now my tastes run from the aforementioned to titles like Guys and Dolls, Gentleman Prefer Blondes, Mama Mia, Moulin Rouge, South Pacific, and yes even the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Each one brings something to the genre of musicals. The reason I love them is due to the fact that they make things fun and light hearted.  When I am having a rough day there is nothing like a good musical to chase the blues away and bring in a smile.

Only thing better is watching one live, like I recently did with my bestest buddy in the whole world, when we indulged in Vegas’s own Phantom. It is one show/movie I have never seen and I am not sure who enjoyed it more, my darling Row or me.

If you enjoy musicals, which rank among your favorites?

That sucks. I just wrote a comment and it didn’t post. Anyways, I only saw one broadway musical “Beauty and the Beast” and Cirque du Soleil’s “KA” in Vegas. I can see why you love musicals so much, once you watch them they truly are magical. I tried watching some on TV but it isn’t the same as live.
