MeanKitty and a New Review?

Yep that’s right! I am making an appearance at Mean Kitty’s Blog today. If you are not familiar with Mean Kitty, maybe you know who Mean Kitty bosses on a regular basis-author Jody Wallace. Please pop on over and show a little love! (If you click on Jody’s name be sure to go to her blog to peruse my interview with Mean Kitty.)

Also, I had the pleasure of receiving a wonderful email last night. I was reviewed at Fallen Angel Reviews! Buckling Down received four fallen angels and I couldn’t be happier! What a way to start off the week. I don’t know how the rest of the week will stack up.

All I can say at this point is… Happy Dance!

Buckling Down Gets 4.5 Ribbons!

It is officially time for a happy dance!

Wow. I just don’t know what more to say. Utterly speechless. And as those who know me well can attest, that is not an easy feat to accomplish. I had a pleasant little surprise awaiting me today when I popped onto the computer this afternoon. An email listing reviews for books from my publisher sat patiently waiting for me to read and scroll. I did not expect to see my beloved tale amongst the list of books reviewed, but there it was.  Courtesy of Romance Junkies, Buckling Down got a fab rating. I couldn’t be more tickled! First book, first review, four and a half… not too shabby. Seeing some of her comments at the end of the review made it all worth it.

SheWolf

By Teresa D’Amario Published by Freya’s Bower

A small town veterinarian has a big time problem. She’s not human.

Plagued as a child with an extra-sensitive sense of smell, strength, and eyesight, Anna Callaway always thought she was special. But she didn’t understand how special until she met Kieran Hunter.

He insists they are True Mates, but he’s not human either. He’s wolven.
Kieran is a protector of his race. No longer the Alpha of his pack, he spends his time searching out and punishing any who may reveal their race to humans. While patrolling, he finds two wolven about to kidnap Anna. He battles to protect her, but is surprised to find himself drawn to her in a way he never expected.

The couple must learn to deal with their differences before they can address their similarities. But when three men kidnap Anna, she must decide if she is to embrace the wolven way of life, or return to her quiet existence. And whether to abandon the man who claims her as his True Mate.

What can I say? For once I’m totally speechless. An unbelievable probability I know, but true. I will not be giving anything away in this reveiw so bear with me while I gather my thoughts….

When I read, there tends to be a checklist I subconsciously run through. It’s not long but all parts are vital to my overall enjoyment of a book. Dying to know how SheWolf stacked up? In order of importance in my little realm of happy reading, here are my conclusions for this little tale:

Real and believable characters- Check

I found Anna, the heroine of the story, to be a truly strong character. She was driven, spunky, and smart. There were issues she had to overcome, and it seemed that instead of the issues hindering her, they drove her forward. I absolutely loved that. Kieran-ahhh, now there’s a hero that is right up my alley. In fact, I have placed my order for my very own Kieran. LOVED him. He’s strong, lovable, haunted, and ultimately flawed, which endears me to him more. We are not talking about your typical cookie cutter-You had me at hello- hero here. Then there were the supporting characters which truly added more depth to the story. Well done.

Emotion- Check Check

If a story cannot evoke emotion from me, what’s the point? I truly want to feel for the characters. This story runs the gambit. I cried, laughed, angered, and loved with these characters. What more could a girl ask for? Absolutely Golden!

Intriguing Plot- Check Check Check

Hook, line, and sinker – Once I started reading, I could not put it down. I fell in love with the characters and rallied to their cause. So much depth and so many issues for Anna and Kieran to overcome, you really have no time to get bored. That to me screams great plot!

Obviously I loved this book. As soon as I finished, I immediately sought out Teresa to tell her my opinions. When I was done, I shamelessly begged to be her fan club president. I kid you not. Trust me when I tell you that Teresa D’Amario has struck gold with SheWolf. You definitely want to keep your eye on this up and coming author because she is going places. Never have I read a book and been smitten from the first page, but there you have it.

So, to get you started on your path to Teresa fandom, let me dish. Teresa’s next book, Tigress, releases Tuesday the 15th from Tease Publishing. To celebrate this momentous occasion, I will be reviewing it on Tuesday at Romantic Bites. Also, you will want to stop by here because Teresa and I are cooking up something BIG to celebrate. You won’t want to miss this I promise. Good times will be had by all!
