FF~ What I Love About the Holidays

This blog is about to get crazy over the next week and a half or so as the Holidays near and some free online short stories are made available to you. And honestly, as this time of year is crazy for many of us, I find it even more so with the Zombie Twins having their birthday so close to Christmas (practically a week before). Anyhow, lets discuss my Friday Five… holiday style!

  1. Christmas Movies! I’m a sucker for Holiday movies, and here are a few must sees in order for the Holiday to be complete: N.L.’s Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, White Christmas, and Polar Express
  2. The Holidays mean yummy Starbuck’s coffee perfect to feed my addiction! A White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha or Caramel Brulee Latte usually do the trick for me.
  3. Family & Traditions! Need I say more? There is a traditional Christmas Eve Open House that was started when my father was a little boy and he carries on that tradition today. Loads of work, yet oh so worth it.
  4. Holiday Baking. Need I say more? There is nothing like putting together little baskets of homemade treats and giving them out to your friends. It has a way of spreading a little Holiday Cheer!
  5. The excitement the Zombie Twins and all the other children have when the magic of Christmas is in the air. It is infectious even on our worst days.

May you be infected with the joy and magic of the Holidays!

FF~Reasons Today is a Good Day

Today I’m going to share five things I like about today. You ready? Hold on because its going to be quick ‘n dirty. Ah maybe not that dirty.

1. Starbucks – live for Friday Starbucks runs.
2. Closer to California Turkey Day trip.
3. Getting ladybug tattoo in honor of beloved and very missed grandmother.
4. Payday!!!!
5. Writing weekends are the best!

The Agenda

I swear I have one. For starters let’s talk blog. I’m going to be working hard to bring back some of my favorite features. Things like Music Monday, Temptation Tuesday, and the Friday Five. I’m especially excited about Temptaion Tuesday where I get the priveledge of chatting with my fellow authors and learning more about what they have in store for us.

Now let’s talk writing. The work in progress pile is looming over me and it is quite large to say the least. I need to narrow it down. Currently, I have someone looking over Blood & Moonlight. The second book has an opening and is slowly progressing. I also have a story in the works. First in a trilogy. A contemp western of sorts that will follow three brothers if all goes according to plan.

Excited? I am. Now if I could just find where my Muse ran off to….

FF~Pick Up Lines

This is one of those topics I can never get enough of. Probably because the pool is never full. So here are five random pick up lines most of which left me rolling my eyes and wondering if they ever work for anyone. Anyone brave enough to share?

  1. You say “I bet you $20 I can kiss you without using my lips.” She says, “Bet’s on.” You kiss her then say, “I lost.”
  2. I hope you know CPR, because you take my breath away.
  3. I was blinded by your beauty so I’m going to need your name and number for insurance reasons.
  4. Can I take a picture of you, so I can show Santa just what I want for Christmas.
  5. What has 142 teeth and holds back the incredible hulk? My zipper.

I have to say, the only pickup lines I ever heard are pretty played out. The “Are your legs tired cause you’ve been running through my mind all day”, You – “Did it hurt”. The other person will naturally say “Did what hurt?”, You – “When you fell from heaven.”, and then “Excuse me, can you empty your pockets? I believe you have stolen my heart.” None of which worked.

FF~Girl Rules 101

Yes I feel the need to share Moira’s girl rules. They may seem basic, but here they are none the less.

1. New Heels are totally fab but should only be decorating your stems when the time wearing them will be limited. What good are those to die for shoes if they are hiding under the desk or if you are walking like the Bride of Frankenstein in them? So not cute! Screams look at me in all the wrong ways.

2. Having to take more than one shower in a day is nothing to whine or cry about. Well unless you are covered in mud and your latest haute de couture creation is reeking, wrecked, and/or ruined! Then I might be brought to tears just by hearing the tale!

3. Make-up and Hair is a must! You should always do these two things before leaving the house.

Um...I'm sorry what was the rule about the guy in 2C?

For you. Not so the guy in 2C will notice you. It makes you feel good about yourself that’s why. Okay for you and for the guy in 2C, but please do it for you first!

4. Never put yourself in a position to be called a tramp. One exception to this rule would be that you were sacrificing your own pristine reputation for world peace, but that is an extreme example and you must be REALLY good at what you do to solve a centuries old problem like World Peace.

5. Girlfriends are hard to come by. If you have even one that you can relate to, treasure that friendship more than a Tiffany’s bracelet. Trust me. This is coming from a girl who LOVES Tiffany’s.

That’s it. My Friday Five. Dedicated to the wonderful Sally, her new shoes, and the email which inspired this post. ;)
