Who’s Your Cowboy?

The winner of the autographed copy of the Wild Ride Anthology is….. ahem, can I have a drum roll please?

Shelley Munro!

Yee Haw! Okay, we only have a small request here. You have to let me know if you found it just as difficult to choose your favorite cowboy among the mix. I am quite partial to Levi since I did dream about him for so long, but my partners in crime in this novella wrote some equally hot and drool worthy cowboys, so I will take no offense. :)

Anyone else who has read ALL three stories present in the Wild Ride Anthology, sound off for me on your favorite cowboy if you will. Just because of curiosity sake and the very deep seeded desire to dish on all that hawtness!

Contest ~ Wild Ride!

Wild Ride features three incredible stories with unbelievable characters. Seriously, take a look at the cover blurbs.

Buckling Down by Moira Keith~ Levi is in Vegas with one simple goal: cement his place in rodeo history. Then Lady Luck throws a wild card. Time hasn’t dulled his attraction to Sydney, but she’ll always be forbidden fruit. Sydney’s ready to give up on love…until Levi walks into her bar. She may think love’s not in the cards for her, but that doesn’t mean a girl can’t flirt…

Strong, Silent Type by Lorelei James~ Quinn thought he’d just bide time until Libby called a halt to this “trial separation”. He never believed it would drag on for a coon’s age. Libby knows he’s not prone to showing his feelings, but it looks like he’d rather hold onto his pride than to her. One weekend of uninterrupted sexual decadence with him is tempting…but will it solve anything?

The Real Deal by Niki Green~ When Willa looks out into the crowd during her burlesque act and sees a familiar face staring back, her past comes crashing down around her. Chase has some hard questions for the former love of his life, and he wants answers—even if he has to throw her over his shoulder and drag her back home…

They vary in heat, but they all deliver an awesome love story. (This is not entirely based on my biased opinion, but on feedback from readers. ;) ) Okay, here we go. This is for a print copy of Wild Ride, featuring my novella Buckling Down and signed by yours truly.

If I Only Had a Brain~

bucklingdown72lgI would be freaking dangerous. Maybe genius level evil genius. Why are you shaking your head? I could so pull off EVIL on a diabolical level. No? Really? You don’t think so huh?

Okay, you’re right. Maybe not because honestly, I am way too nice for that. Truth though? I could be dangerous on a less sinister level. I mean imagine if I could actually remember when I had interviews scheduled to post, blogged more regularly, wrote when I had a free moment instead of hanging out on Facebook… see where I am going with this?

So getting to the point now! I have an interview up over at Amanda Young’s blog. Go check it out. Comment if you feel the need, but mostly just enjoy the interview!

A Few Updates~

Well, guess what I discovered while perusing Amazon.com the other day? Print Anthology cover art. I tell you what, Scott Carpenter does awesome work! Um do I love the cover? Surely you jest. I mean really what kind of a question is that. Just look at it. Is it love? Oh that might be a slight understatement.

Wild Ride print cover

Now this little beauty is available for pre-order now, however it will not be released until March 1,2010. I know talk about your early teasers for those of you dying to have a print copy, but I could not sit on this until then. Can you imagine?

Okay, now for the second update, I am going to be guest blogging over at Phoebe Jordan’s site, Talk About My Favorite Authors, tomorrow. Be sure to check it out.

Third and final update for the day…. Chosen is making progress. It is slow going, but I am beginning to feel my way around the story again and it feels good. Should breech the 50k mark at any moment now, as long as things go smoothly and the muse continues to bless me. Hopefully I will continue to do the story justice as I would really hate to disappoint the handful of people who have been harassing me for the finished copy of this little gem. (You know who you are and your patience is greatly appreciated.)

Til next time, Sláinte!

Today is the BIG Day!

Yeppers! Today is the release of Buckling Down! Can you believe it is here already? I can’t. Seems like only yesterday I was going through edits upon edits and thought man release day will never come. Ha! I was soooo wrong! It is here! Happy dance!

Sydney Hart, the heroine of Buckling Down, is making a guest appearance today over at Rowan’s Place where she is dishing about music. Pop on over and take a peek. I am going to pop in little later today…. maybe with a contest in mind. Or maybe… nah I think a contest is the best way to celebrate today!

Somehow my usual sign off of Sláinte doesn’t quite fit the bill today. Guess I have to go with Yee Haw? It’s me, yet it’s not. LOL We shall stick to my tried and true.

How Buckling Down Came to Be~

I was sitting around, wondering what to blog about when I thought… hmmm a little peek behind the curtain of the great and not-so-powerful author mind. (Hey I resemble that remark!) Okay seriously moving on. There is no secret that my writing heart leans a bit farther towards the paranormal romance genre than any other, so to end up writing and contracting a contemporary western romance did take a few of my supporters by surprise. :p

Seriously, I was neck deep in a paranormal vampire/shifter story and my brother-in-law (bless his heart) decided to inform me that it sounded like I was writing Underworld Part 3. Well if that didn’t just rub the wrong way and in all the wrong places. Nothing against the Underworld movies, as I am a huge fan, but it wasn’t what I was going for. Not into writing Fanfic myself, though I can attest there are some great pieces out there. (If you don’t want to take my word for it I encourage you to go check out my friend Mike’s stuff at Ad Astra.) Anyhow, getting off topic.

Once the whole fanfic reference had run it’s course, I really couldn’t bring myself to continue on with that story. SO I decided that I would write something as a surprise, for my mother. Something I believed she would be more interested in. She reads paranormal, but it is not her favorite, and a contemporary western seemed to fit my mood at the time. My love and admiration for my mother helped breathe life into Sydney Hart, my heroine. My mother is a woman who has already experienced so much in her life, and there is this inner strength in her that I admire. It is that strength that fueled my imagination with Sydney. Levi… well it would seem that he just appeared in my head, larger than life and ridin’ a bull, with a little bit of a Paul Walker look to him. Okay, I am not going to apologize for fantasizing about Paul Walker. Slap me if you will but that boy is hot. No I did not recently watch a movie starring him prior to writing Buckling Down. He appeared, I wrote him. Hell who am I to argue with a hot cowboy?

I would love to say that writing this story was easy, but it would be a lie. Ask Rown, Betty, or Sally at TGOB and they will attest to this little fact. Sex scenes? Well we will leave that little tidbit of info for another post. I did however, enjoy the entire process, including the bitching and complaining, ripping my hair out, noticing a few new grey hairs, and the stress that comes along with the entire process. No I would not trade one bit of the experience for all the tea in china…but just maybe for a Levi McKenna I might. ;) Don’t forget to check out the excerpt on Samhain’s site

The Real Deal~

Blurb number two for the wonderful Wild Ride Anthology being brought to you on May 5th by Samhain Publishing and Niki Green

The Real Dealrealdeal

He held the reins to her heart once—and this time he won’t let go.

Wild Ride story.

Willa Tate left Millbrook, Texas, years ago—along with her future, her fiancé and her heart. Now, as one of the headlining acts at a hot burlesque club, she looks into the crowd, sees a familiar face staring up at her—and her past comes crashing back.

Chase Kiel has some hard questions for the former love of his life. He spent forever looking for her, and now he wants answers—even if he has to throw her over his shoulder and drag her back to Millbrook to get them.

He’d find it a hell of a lot easier if the chemistry weren’t still there. If they didn’t still fit together like keg of dynamite and fuse. If he didn’t want not only his answers…but her heart.

Chase is still certain he and Willa belong together—and convincing Willa of it will be his pleasure.

Warning: This title contains explicit, powder-keg-hot sex, language that ain’t fit for your mama’s ears, and a hot cowboy with a Texas-sized heart.

Interested in reading a little more? Well what are you waiting for? Pop on over to Samhain Publishing’s site and read the excerpt. It’s just a click away!

Seriously, show a little love and support by popping on over to give the book a little looksie. Otherwise, denying the temptation to do so may drive you mad. (I’ve heard of it happening…are you really willing to test the theory?)

Strong, Silent Type~

Here is the first blurb from one of my fellow Wild Ride Anthology ladies. Strong, Silent Type is coming at you, May 5th from Samhain Publishing & Lorelei James.

Strong, Silent Type

Tough. Taciturn. And a fool for letting her go…

Wild Ride story.

Wyoming rancher Quinn McKay thought he’d only have to bide time until his levelheaded wife came to her senses and called a halt to this “trial separation”. He never believed the marital rough patch would drag on for a coon’s age.

Libby McKay knew when she married the gruff, laid-back cowboy that he wasn’t prone to blathering about his feelings. But three months have passed and her stubborn-as-a-mule husband is still living by himself in the horse trailer. It seems he’d rather hold onto his pride than hold onto her.

Quinn realizes Libby is determined to move on if he doesn’t loosen his tongue and he’ll lose the only woman he’s ever loved. In a last-ditch effort to keep her in his life, he offers her one weekend of uninterrupted sexual decadence.

Reigniting the passion is easy. The hard part comes after the sheets have cooled and they find out if what remains is strong enough to survive past mistakes.

Warning: Old-fashioned groveling leads to smokin’ hot sexual encounters—steamin’ up the truck windows, rockin’ the horse trailer—proving even an old married dog can learn naughty new tricks.

Check out an excerpt here at Samhain Publishing just to whet your appetite a bit. You won’t be sorry!

Now if that little blurb ain’t enough to make you want to sneak a peek…. I don’t know what is. Seriously, go check it out. This little beauty will surely score big with you.

My First Book Trailer

After many long and tedious hours, I have wrestled my book trailer into submission. Now the only question is… did I nail it? Well, I find fault in everything and will likely do so here as well, but for now, I am going to revel in the fact that I actually completed the task I set before myself for this weekend. Success! It is a wonderful feeling.

Update: There is a new and hopefully improved version of my trailer under the link for Trailers on the side menu.
